We have a large 2BR in Park Slope, the prettiest neighborhood in Brooklyn. It's a leafy, beautiful, and upscale area and just up the hill is the famous 587-acre Prospect Park. We are in the middle of many subway lines, from 10 to 15 minutes by foot. Park Slope is famous for its pretty brownstones and old-fashioned neighborhood character. It has plenty of restaurants and artisanal and boutique shops down the street. There's the best homemade frozen yogurt around, an excellent sushi restaurant one block away, and a Whole Foods market down the hill (10 min walk). One of the best restaurants in Brooklyn, Al di La, is nearby.
