Lovely House in Beautiful Tralee, Ireland
We have arranged our holiday for summer 2018.
We are interested in an exchange for 2 weeks in July or August. Ideally, we are interested in exchanging with a house that is in a medium/large town or city (50,000+ people).
We live in a comfortable 4-bed house (Approx 180m2) in Tralee, a large town of approx 24,000 people. 10 minutes walking distance to town centre, restaruants, bars, shops etc. Ideal base for visiting other beautiful towns nearby such as scenic Killarney and Dingle. We are both teachers with 2 boys (Ages 13 and 11) and a girl (8 years).
Our House. First Floor: 4 bedrooms, 1 en-suite. 3 with double beds, 1 with Bunk Bed. 1 Bathroom (seperate from en-suite).
Ground Floor: Comfortable living room, Dining room, Kitchen, Toilet and childrens Play room. Garden with patio including table and chairs. Slide and swings in garden for the kids. Small outside garage. Parking in front of house.
What is there to do/see in Tralee?
There is a video to be seen at http://www.tralee.ie/ which shows some of the main tourist attractions.
There are several beaches within 15 minute drive. (Fenit, Banna, Derrymore and Castlegregory (Surf beach)) Ireland has 81 blue flag beaches. 13 of them are in County Kerry and 6 of these are within 30 mins drive from our house.
There is a theatre within 5 mins. (http://www.siamsatire.com/)
For swimming and keeping the kids happy there is the Aquadome which is only 5 mins away. (http://aquadome.ie/). There are several beaches nearby, the closest is only a 10 minute drive away.
This website gives details about Kerry (the county/area in which Tralee is located). http://www.kerrygems.com/about-kerry/
TripAdvisor is a very useful site showing attractions and restaurant reviews written by tourists.
Tralee is about 2 hours drive from Shannon and Cork and a 3.5 hour drive from Dublin.
Killarney is a tourist town which is about 25 mins away by car. (http://www.killarney.ie/) Dingle is also a tourist town which is not too far by car, about 40 mins. (http://www.dingle-peninsula.ie/)
In August there is an old fair in Killorglin (25 mins). Its not too big but there is free concerts at night.
We have fibre internet connection (Approx 150Mbs), 46 inch HD TV with surround sound home cinema system with Blu-Ray, Playstation 4, Wii. The kitchen has all the usual equipment as well as a bean-to-cup espresso/cappuccino maker.
