About the neighborhood
THE HOUSE
Our appartment is a very comfortable place to spend your holidays. There is a large living-room, beautifully decorated which is close to a kitchen and there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom.
The house overlooks the river and the views are really Astounging when sitting on the sofa by the living-room window.
THE TOWN: BIESCAS
The ecclesiastical heritage of Biescas is represented by the churches of San Pedro and Salvador, both romanesque and dominate the two hills on which the population sits.
The present church of San Pedro was lifted during the nineteenth century. After the Civil War and the widespread destruction, the intervention of the Devastated Regions National Service gave the church its present aspect.
On the other hand, the Church of San Salvador is a building built around the year 1200, renovated in the XVI century and rebuilt after the Civil War.
As Biescas is located very close to the French border and so close to the skiing stations of Candanchú, Formigal and Panticosa you can go skiing in winter and enjoy beautiful snowed ladscapes by the mountains.
In summer time You can also go hiking and practice mountain sports, having walks in the mountains or simply looking for mushrooms to make a good stew at home.
Just 5 km from the town center, taking the PR-HU 78 to the French border stands the chapel of Santa Elena, built in the seventeenth century at the entrance of the Tena Valley. This is a very beautiful spot sanctified from the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the dolmen standing in the meadow, at the foot of the chapel. Also in Roman times the place continued to be center of worship for the nymphs. The shrine is built next to an intermittent fountain
There are many and varied villages next to Biescas and so many places to visit just having a walk or on a morning excursion.
There are supermarkets, restaurants and even a swimming pool and a small sport centre where you can go and play different sports. There is also a tourism office downtown where you may be perfectly informed about the different activities taking place daily in the town or in the surroundings.
