Notre maison:
Notre maison est un logement de 7 pièces : salon, chambre avec lit Queen, chambre avec lit double extra-long, très petit bureau avec lit double mural (sans commode, ni chaise et avec aucun espace lorsque le lit est ouvert), petite salle de bain, salle à dîner et cuisine. Il est situé au troisième étage d'un triplex et possède un balcon à l’avant et une terrasse entourée d'arbres à l’arrière. Entre autres caractéristiques, il se distingue par ses vitraux et ses balcons en bois et fer forgé. La cuisine de l'appartement a été rénovée il y a quelques années et le salon est doté d’un piano à queue 5'7" Heinzmann récemment restauré. Nos co-propriétaires et voisins des premier et deuxième étages sont avenants.

La maison est dotée de la connexion internet haute-vitesse (WiFi), de la télévision câblée, d’air climatisé et de tous les électros usuels dont une cuisinière au gaz naturel. Nous pouvons mettre à votre disposition notre automobile Mazda 2 2011 en excellent état. Le stationnement sur la rue est facilement disponible. La maison est non-fumeur.
Our house:
Our house is a 7 room apartment: living room, bedroom with Queen bed, bedroom with extra-long double bed, smaller room with wall double bed (no dresser and with no space when the bed is open), small bathroom, dining room and kitchen. It is located on the third floor of a triplex and has a balcony at the front and a terrace surrounded by trees at the back. Among other features, it is distinguished by its stained-glass windows and balconies in wood and wrought iron. The kitchen of the apartment has been renovated a few years ago and the living room has a recently restored Heinzmann 5'7 "grand piano. Our co-owners and neighbors on the first and second floor are welcoming.
Other informations:
The house is equipped with high speed internet connection (WiFi), cable television, air conditioning and all usual appliances including a natural gas stove. We can offer you our 2011 Mazda 2 car in excellent condition. Parking on the street is readily available. The house is non-smoking.

Nous serons à l'extérieur de Montréal du 11 au 14 juin, du 24 juin au 3 juillet ainsi que du 16 au 23 août, aussi l'appartement est disponible à ces dates pour un échange non simultané. Nous avons confirmé un échange de maisons à Copenhague environ 2 semaines à la fin septembre/début octobre (dates à confirmer) et aimerions prolonger notre séjour au Danemark ou pas trop loin de Copenhague pour les premières semaines de septembre ou fin août. La durée de 3 semaines n'est qu'à titre indicatif. |

About the neighborhood
Notre quartier:
La maison est située dans le quartier Rosemont-Petite-Patrie, au centre de l'île de Montréal. Ce quartier majoritairement francophone est calme et sécuritaire. Il offre plusieurs restaurants et cafés, abrite le célèbre marché Jean-Talon et la non moins fameuse Plaza St-Hubert (une artère commerciale, dont une section est malheureusement présentement en travaux), un irréductible cinéma de quartier, plusieurs parcs, etc. Tous les commerces de service se trouvent à proximité. Bien qu’un autobus s’arrête au coin de la rue pour nous mener directement au métro Beaubien, on peut néanmoins s’y rendre à pied en moins de 10 minutes et rejoindre directement le centre-ville de Montréal en moins de 15 minutes.

Our neighborhood:
The house is located in the Rosemont-Petite-Patrie neighborhood, in the center of the island of Montreal. This predominantly French-speaking neighborhood is calm and safe. There are several restaurants and cafés, home to the famous Marché Jean-Talon (market) and the no less famous Plaza St-Hubert (a commercial artery), an irreducible neighborhood cinema, several parks, etc. All service shops are nearby. Although a bus stops at the corner of the street to take you directly to the metro Beaubien (subway station), you can walk to it in less than 10 minutes and go directly to downtown Montreal in less than 15 minutes.

We had a great exchange with Jean and Susane! Their appartement is very charming, decorated with taste and has the perfect Montreal-typical touch. The area where they live is very accessible with public transport and has many special cafés and boutiques. The terrace is simply amazing, you actually are amongst the top of the trees! Very much recommended!

Nous sommes un couple dans la jeune soixantaine. Jean est un professionnel en gestion de l'information (actuellement à son compte) et Suzane est professeure de mathématiques à la retraite et enseigne maintenant le piano. Notre fille Marilou pourrait quelquefois se joindre à nous. Nous sommes propriétaires de cette maison en co-propriété (trois couples possédant chacun un étage) depuis plus de trente ans. Nous habitons le Québec depuis notre naissance.
Nous maîtrisons tous les deux le français. Jean est très à l'aise en anglais et possède une base en espagnol. Suzane possède une base en anglais et en espagnol.

We are a couple in their early sixties. Jean is an information management professional (currently on his own) and Suzane is a retired math and now piano teacher. Our daughter Marilou could sometimes join us. We own this house co-owned (three couples each with a floor) for over thirty years. We have lived in Quebec since our birth.
We both master French. Jean is very fluent in English and has a basic Spanish. Suzane has a base in English and Spanish.
