Spacious, comfortable town house in Melbourne, Australia.
Our home is a comfortable, twenty-four-year-old two storey town house of Georgian appearance with patio on the east side that catches the morning and early afternoon sun. It is set on high ground, from where there are glimpses of the Dandenong Ranges to the east and the city to the west.
All bedrooms are located upstairs with ample wardrobe space. The main bedroom is very spacious and adjoined by an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in robe. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and the third has one single bed (two singles will fit if required). A spacious main bathroom with spa bath is also situated upstairs. There are four toilets, two upstairs and two downstairs.
Downstairs the kitchen adjoins a breakfast area (table seats six) and family room. There is a separate lounge/dining room with dining table that seats eight.
Indoor facilities - central heating, reverse cycle air conditioning upstairs and downstairs, gas and electric kitchen appliances, dish washer, washing machine, TV and wireless Internet.
Outdoors - table and chair setting (seats six) and BBQ for al fresco dining.

My partner and I are now retired, Cathy was a secondary school teacher and I (Ian) an IT project manager who are now relishing the life of leisure. We have four independent adult children, nine grandchildren and as you would expect, have strong family ties. We normally just travel as a couple but on occasions like to invite two close friends or family members if our hosts approve.
In 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2023 we had very successful exchanges in England, France, Canada, Netherlands and France for a second time. These exchanges were arranged through an alternative organisation. When on exchange we love life as a local resident rather than a frenetic tourist! There has also been the great pleasure of making new friends with our exchange partners and their neighbours.
It is likely that travelers to Australia will want to visit between late spring and early autumn (November to March). We have two residences in Melbourne and therefore are prepared for a non-simultaneous swap any time of year. Once we know what your interests are we would be delighted to help you find the best places to go and things to do.
