Positioned directly opposite the bowling green in Queens Park, a range of local activities can be found including nature walks/trails, the glass house, a fortnightly farmers market and all weather football pitches and tennis courts. Local amenities are available upon Victoria Road and further a field on Kilmarnock Road in central Shawlands where thriving coffeeshops, restaurants and delicatessens are available.
 

An ideal location for seeing all the sites of Central Scotland.  Pollok Park is about a 10 minute walk away and there you will find Pollok House and The Burrell Collection.  The centre of Glasgow is a 6 minute train journey or 10 minute drive away.  The nearest train station  less than 2 minutes to walk   To drive to Loch Lomond would take about 40 minutes and to Stirling Castle about 50 minutes.  Prestwick airport is about 45 minutes by car.  To drive to the Ayrshire coast to see Culzean Castle or Robert Burns cottage would take about 1 hour.  Glasgow itself has an abundance of museums (all free entry), fabulous designer shops and trendy bars and restaurants.  The last train home at night is about 11.45pm and a taxi home would cost £5.  Locally there are bars and restaurants.  There is a supermarket within a 5 minute walk.
