House in Staffanstorp, Sweden

Dear Intervac Friends,

Our house is a 130m2 one storey house with three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a sofa bed with room for two, one bathroom, one toilet, a very comfortable glassed patio and a very private and very green little garden. Our house got a reward for best 1960ies architecture. We have a tabletop computer and a free WIFI. There is a big flat screen TV in the livingroom with hundreds of sattelite channels. We are non-smokers.

We would  like to exchange cars if possible. We have an Opel Astra for you to explore Sweden with.

We live in the best part of Sweden, which is Skåne, the southern end of Sweden where everything is close. You can visit white sandy beaches, walk free anywhere in nature or visit old historical towns. Shopping is good and prices are too. Our city is called Staffanstorp and has 22 000 inhabitants. We live in the city centre with all the conveniences around the corner, it is only a 1 min walking distance to shops, restaurants and public pools. We live very close to the cosy university town of Lund (10 min by car or bus) and Sweden’s third city Malmö (15 min). Lund has a lot of archeological and ancient finds exhibited in museums and in the 1000 year old cathedral. Malmö is a cultural city with a lot of clubs, restaurants, museums, and shows. Both cities have lovely city centers with shops and restaurants. Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is just across the water. You can drive there in 40 minutes or take the train. Copenhagen airport is conviniently only 30 minutes away.

Presentatie tekst voor het gezin

We are a family of four. Patrik is 64 and a retired school director in Malmö. Lisbeth is 58 and works as a biochemist at a biotech company. Karin is 28 living in Lund where she is studying molecular biology at the University. Ingrid is 25 and studies science in Amsterdam. Both girls still likes to accompany us on house exchanges and possibly one or both boyfriends will join as well.

Lifestyle

We have made 14 house exchanges since 2002 and every single one has been a success. We have managed to meet all the families we have exchanged with and they have all been great. The photos shows Barcelona from 2005, Amsterdam 2006, Peterborough in England 2007, New York 2008, Berlin 2009, Sacramento 2010 (we visited relatives in Idaho that took us rafting!) and Malaga (this is Alhambra in Granada) 2011.
