House in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Our nice house is located in the IJburg district, in the eastern part of Amsterdam. It is a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by water and special architecture. A tram takes you within 12 minutes to the center of Amsterdam with all the museums, theaters, history and atmosphere.
Our house has 3 floors and has a garden and private parking behind the garden. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed (the master bedroom has a waterbed). There are also 2 nice ‘work’ rooms (or second living rooms) where you can plug in your laptop to work (if you want to).
We have a cat, Puk, she is about 1.5 year old, looks after herself, but loves to be cuddled and to be fed.

A weekend or one or two days longer, somewhere in Europe, but not too far from Amsterdam, as we don't want to fly for such a short period |

We really enjoyed our exchange in the home of Guido and Ans. It was easy to use the local tram system to get into the city of Amsterdam which is a fascinating city full of interest including many art galleries. The area in which Guido and Ans live is fairly new, built on reclaimed land forming several small islands. We found it fascinating to walk around the area. We had a long Zoom chat with our hosts prior to the exchange and therefore felt we had got to know them before we stayed in their lovely home.

We love both nature and culture. We are open to exchange weekends and longer periods. Our work is advisor at Rijkswaterstaat (Guido) and student counsellor at a university (Ans). Since 2020 we also work from home a lot, so we have perfect workplaces. We have exchanged houses since 2008 and loved it. But took a pause in 2014. Now that our children are living on their own for some years, we are again open for exchanges.
