Detached 4-bed family home in Ballincollig, Cork, Ireland. We are looking for a 3-4 day exchange with a family in or close to London in early May or late June. We have already reached an agreement with a French family for our main summer holiday.
Our home is at the edge of a village called Ballincollig in County Cork. It is about 10 minutes from historic Cork City and also from Cork Airport, which connects with hundreds of cities across Europe. It is very handy for all of Cork, including the stunning West Cork coastal area and is less than an hour from Kenmare, Killarney, The Ring of Kerry etc. 2.5 hours drive to Dublin.
We have bikes, scooters, books, DVDs and toys aimed at girls between 10 and 12 or so. Their den has a smart TV with DVD.
The living room has a 32" TV, eVision (paid satellite TV channels), a DVD player and a gas fire.
The family room is open plan with living, dining and kitchen areas in one space with a separate utility room (which has washing machine, dryer, drinks fridge and freezer). The living area has a 40" flat-screen TV, eVision and an electric fire.
The kitchen has 'all mod cons' including fridge drawers, double oven, gas hob with extractor fan, Nespresso coffee machine, 4-slice toaster etc.
The garden has a 3m x 5m climbing frame, an 8ft trampoline with safety nets, basketball hoop, a swing set and an 8-seater cast aluminium garden furniture set with cushions and parasol. We also have a large gas bar-b-q.
The master bedroom has a 16" flatscreen TV with DVD player and an en-suite shower room (no toilet). All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.
We have a standard family bathroom with bath / shower.
The guest bedroom has a double bed. There are two beautiful girly bedrooms, each with a single bed and a music system.
We have a precious 4 year old cat - Patch - and a kitten - Pepper - and would need you to mind them for your stay. They are very easy to mind - clean bowls with fresh dry food and water each day and to let them in and out. They sleep inside and are meticulous about their personal grooming!
We have made three exchanges so far, with lovely families on the east coast of Spain and from the beautiful island of Oland in Sweden. In 2016 we will exchange with a family in Brittany, France. We are looking to expand our exchange horizons a little further, and are interested in city breaks in 2016 and a longer stay in the USA in 2017. Get in touch if you're interested in swapping. We will consider all offers!

Ballincollig is a lovely village/suburb 7 miles from Cork City. The village itself dates back to the 19th century and until very recently the focal point was a beautiful Georgian army barracks and stone wall. The village now has all amenities as well as a lovely park by the River Lee with a skateboard park and playing fields. There is a playground, a cinema, plenty of shops and restaurants and a play centre in the village. It's a friendly, family-oriented village. Ballincollig was awarded a Gold Medal in the National Tidy Towns Competition and there are always stunning floral displays during the summer months all over the village.
There is easy access from our home to the rest of Cork and Munster. Killarney is 1 hour away; Dublin 2.5 hours, West Cork 1 hour. Cork City was European City of Culture and filled with interesting things to see and do. We have an Information pack ready for you to see with plenty of suggestions of how to spend your time in Cork.

We are a professional couple with two girls aged 12 and 10. We live in a small park of 14 houses with lots of children the same ages as our girls. The house is walking distance to supermarkets, playground, skateboard park, the 'regional' park and the local rugby club.
Ballincollig village has lots of charm - Victorian buildings mixed with 21st century - it has plenty of shops and restaurants, a cinema - and the bypass motorway links it really quickly with the rest of Cork.
Within a short drive you can access all that Cork city and county has to offer - Blarney Castle, Kinsale, the bustling shopping & restaurant areas in Cork city as well as the fantastic West Cork which is less than an hour away. Killarney is just over an hour away. A quick Google search will give you plenty of ideas - markets, horse riding, sailing, walks, castles, museums...
Non smokers only please!
