Water views from the terrace of this 1920s 3 storey house (restored ) in a charming village 10 minutes from the centre of Sydney. Go to Sydney Opera House across the water.

Our home is 200 metres from the water on a peninsula just 3 kms from the centre of Sydney and has beautiful views from our large terrace of the Parramatta River which is an extension of Sydney Harbour. We are 10 minutes by bus bus, ferry or bicycle to the city and close to the Sydney University, Sydney Fish Markets, the Art gallery of NSW, the Botanic gardens, The Rocks, Darling Harbour and Sydney's lovely attractions.

From our large north facing terrace and upstairs balcony we have extensive water views and watch magnificent sunsets. The home is over 3 levels has two double bedrooms and a large study with a sofa bed. There are two bathrooms, laundry facilities and a modern kitchen. There is a pretty garden.

A cafe precinct, Balmain is vibrantly festooned with waterside parks, cafes, restaurants and bars/pubs. There is also wonderful shopping for gourmet food, french bread and chocolates, clothes including both designer and retro, growers' markets and organic produce stores.

The house is what we call semi-detached, having a common wall on one side and unattached on the other. It was built about 1900 and is 200 metres from the water (Sydney Harbour). The area is quite historic and is just 3kms from the centre of Sydney. As you will see from the map on Intervac, the area is in fact a long peninsula with both multiple parks and points of access to the water and ferries to and from the city. Balmain is a village with a vibrant centre and lots of smaller neighbourhoods. There are many many cafes, restaurants and pubs as well as growers' markets, retro markets, French bakeries and gourmet and fashion shops.

From the area it is quite simple to access all of the major tourist attractions, Central Station (including airport trains) and Circular Quay. Houses are quite close to each other but privacy and noise are never issues and the neighbours are delightful.

Having a very mild climate, there are luxurious green trees and lots of birds around in all seasons. In winter, the views of the water from the house will be greatly enhanced by the deciduous trees.

Day to day shopping, library, buses and ferries to the city, post office, cafes and restaurants are all just minutes walk from the house.

Public transport is excellent and access to iconic Sydney places like Manly, Bondi and the Blue Mountains is easy.
However, everyone walks or cycles around Balmain and enjoys the characteristic early 1900s architecture and beautiful parks.
